TradNatura Sport
TradNatura Sport is one of the longest-running bike tour operators in Hungary. This family run company is owned and run by two enthusiasts of Hungarian tradition, nature and sport: Marietta Tihanyi and Peter Beck from Budapest. Examples of some of their most popular tours: "Castles and Spas around West Hungary", "Best Selection of the Danube", "Tokaj wines, the River& Lake Tisza". Daily mileage tends to be quite low (20-25 miles) as the tour also focuses on the cultural aspects of each region. New routes are being added every year, and they are happy to design tailor-made bicycle tours as well as other types of Hungarian-based holidays. Unlike most regional oriented tour companies, you will always have two leaders, one that rides with the group and one driving the air-conditioned support van.

September 2017, Castles and Lakes – Vienna – I found TradNatura Sport on a bicycle touring resource list from Adventure Cycling Association. I spent a good bit of time comparing Hungarian cycling tours in terms of price, accommodations, routes, and reputation. I found little about TradNatura Sport. The company rose to the top of my list because of its focus on interesting destinations and well above average accommodations. I ultimately chose the company and their Castles and Lakes – Vienna – Budapest. It was an excellent choice.
This tour is an excellent choice for the person looking for a guided tour that immerses the cyclist in the people, places, and culture of Western Hungarian. It is a good choice for the beginner-intermediate cyclist looking for a casually paced ride (10-12 mph) over a relatively short distance each day (20-40 miles). The accommodations are top-notch and the guides who are the tour operators are also top notch.
TradNatura Sport is a mom and pop Hungarian cycling tour company. Peter and Mariette are very customer focused and offer super service. They plan the tour expertly and are a joy to cycle and tour with. I can see myself returning to Hungary to cycle with them in the future, most likely bringing some friends with me.

Kind, accomidating, knowledgable guides. Not pretentious in any way. Level listed on the vacation pack is true to form. Loved it!

We have now taken 3 cycling holidays with Tradnatura Sport. Most of all, the trip is made by the owner/supporters, Marietta and Peter. They are knowledgeable, lovely people, who cannot do enough to help. General: The levels of difficulty vary according to the terrain but they are not generally ‘hard riders’. Instead, they are pleasant trips through beautiful countryside, emphasizing nature and culture. There is always one leader and one following with the minibus for support and frequent refreshments (including al fresco lunches.) The bikes are excellent and well maintained. The accommodation tends towards the luxurious, including old castles. They don’t always look the cheapest but are all inclusive and brilliant value for money.

My husband and I can’t think of a thing we’d change about our experience with TradNatura Sport. Peter and Marietta are the kind of guides and hosts who would stop at NOTHING to provide the kind of experience you hope to have in Hungary. They are unfailingly kind, patient, full of enthusiasm, and attentive to every detail. At the end of a beautiful pedaling experience through northwest Hungary, we felt like we’d made ‘best friends’ for life! We’d cycle again with them in their beautiful country—-ANYTIME!
