Kara Mia Italian Adventures

Kara Mia Italian Adventures

Another on the growing list of boutique companies, providing a more intimate travel experience by harnessing their local knowledge of the Italian regions that they cover (currently Piedmont, Tuscan, Umbria and the Dolomites). Groups are limited to 14 people max, and they stay in traditional, non-touristy lodgings (3 stars and up). They also provide cooking and walking tours, and like many of these owner-run companies, you have a lot more flexibility if you have special requests, and they cater to novices and first-time riders. This is definitely a "kinder, gentler" active tour company. A testimonial from their site: "Kara is the real deal.A beautiful soul, she embodies the qualities you want in a tour guide warm, connective and sensible.

Develops a tour through Montana that is amazing. Each night we were given a brief summary of next days ride. The price is great!

Loved the combination of beautiful cycling in the Dolomites with added extras such as Olive oil tasting, wine tasting, funicular rides, train ride to top of mountain & cycle down on amazing cycle path. Accommodation and meals were top quality. I will definitely use this company again, our guide Kara & her assistant Amy were ever present to answer any questions.

There were about 20 of us on this trip with varying degrees of skill and ability, and all but one of us made the distance. It was a challenging course as I recall, with a few rainstorms and more than a few hills along the way. Despite some fussy riders, Kara had a way of making everyone feel welcome and accommodated from the start. I took an instant liking to her, as did most of our group, and her engaging presence spawned a warm camaraderie in this pack of former strangers, which has lasted for some time after we went home.I remember my time and still and cherish the friend I made that summer. Kara is a beautiful person.

KMIA was an awesome bike touring company….from the great leadership, with all the details covered, to the fabulous local adventures, the entire week was the best!! Having guides who have lived in Italy, we were the special guests of small family restaurants, had customized cycle routes through the stunningly beautiful Dolomites each day, and stayed in wonderfully lavish but non ‘touristy’ hotels. Kara Mia is definitely the boutique cycle company without the boutique prices. Loved our trip!!
