Freewheeling Adventuers

Lots of interesting adventures are available, including Iceland, Israel, Czech Republic, Croatia, Japan, Canada and Mexico. Freewheeling goes to all the other, more common regions (Italy, France, Spain), but we counted at least 12 destinations that NONE of the major tour companies cover. They keep the group sizes small - usually less than 12. This is refreshing, as many other companies are letting group sizes creep up to 20.

Also, they provide self-guided tours with a nice twist. They call them privately-semi guided trips. There is still a guide with extensive local knowledge that looks over the riders. We find this refreshing, as we have had problems with other self-guided companies not being there for us when we needed help. Freewheeling wins the contest for "most website pictures of people having loads of fun". With Freewheeling Adventures, the name pretty much sums it up.

I found Freewheeling through this site, and I was thrilled with them! I had a fantastic time on this small group trip (there were only four of us plus the Freewheeling guide and the local guide). The guide was very knowledgeable in the area and quick to suggest alternate routes that we might enjoy more. The local guide knew all the back roads, and we saw things we never would have seen otherwise. The accommodations were great, and the food was incredible! I found the costs to be significantly lower than some of the big-name American companies offering the same tour, and I definitely felt I got my money’s worth. I love that it’s a small, family-owned business. They were also very helpful in connecting me with others from my group before the trip, without compromising anyone’s privacy, so that we could arrange to meet when we got there the day before the tour started. I will definitely be using this company again!

They do guided and self-guided trips, with small groups. There are some easy trips, but there are also great rides for cyclists who like some challenges. Van support on guided trips is great because the groups are so small (12 and fewer).

We’ve been on a number of self-directed and guided trips but have never had better equipment or more personal attention, first to last.

Freewheeling never ceases to amaze us in how much the past trips and dreams of future trips give us continuing pleasure. It is not only the trips, but everything you put into the whole adventure from beginning to end as exemplified by how you can touch us in the middle of winter.

Traveled w/ Freewheeling to Provence. Freewheeling will never cancel a trip, no matter how few participants. We stayed at the same luxurious locations as Backroads but our trip cost much less. Groups are smaller than most other groups. I was impressed both with the quality of our guides and the quality of our accomodations and level of organization.
