Our team has now done two excellent bicycle tours with Cycling Country. Andalusia in May 2022 and we just completed Alentejo in southern Portugal May 2023. Both tours were well organized, Co founders, Maggi and Geoff, and their team do a fantastic job of implementing every detail.
We biked independently with the help of Ride with GPS, but chose to stay together according to our abilities. We had several delicious picnic lunches, our pousadas were lovely with several group dinners and we had free time as well. Best of all, was the leadership and friendliness of Geoff, co owner, and his team.
We can’t wait to plan another tour next year, perhaps the Bordeaux to Birritz tour!

I highly recommend Cycling Country. Our group of 16 from Atlanta metro, Nashville, North and South Carolina, as well as a guest from Holland, recently enjoyed biking across Portugal in the Alentejo region south of Lisbon, on one of Cycling Country’s supported and guided tours with flexibility. We started our tour with 1 to 3 extra days in Lisbon. With van support, we made our way south towards Alcecar do Sal where we biked to the Atlantic. Our riders of. various abilities had of choice of excellent touring bicycles or E-bike styles. Cycling Country’s navigation system downloaded easily to our cell phones or Garmin, giving us freedom yet support, if needed. We enjoyed several delicious picnic lunches throughout the week and our posadas in Evora, Villa Vicosa and Estremoz, our inland host cities, were 4 star. We had 2 layover days added for optional loup rides. Several group dinners, as well as dinner on our own, gave us time to explore individually. It was an enjoyable 8 days of cycling with friends. We look forward to trying one of Cycling Country’s tours in France next year.

My husband and I just completed a 9 day self-guided tour through Cycling Country. Cycling Country provided our bikes, carried our luggage to each hotel from day to day, provided us spot on maps to get from town to town and customized our route that included rest days in places that had additional fun things to do and see. I cannot say enough positive comments about this company and it’s staff. Our luggage typically beat us to our daily destination and if it didn’t it amazingly arrived briefly after us. The bikes were in excellent working condition and this is the first bicycling company that provided us a floor pump to carry with our luggage each day; additionally the bikes arrived to us with extra accessories such as: bike tool, frame pump, tire levers, handlebar bags, two water bottle cages, and a map sleeve that attached to the handle bar bag (we brought our own helmets and pedals).

I would highly recommend using this company and any of their routes that to us were well thought out for people who want to see the beauty of Spain. For the region we cycled through a note of caution, you will need to train as the elevation gains were no joke – which is why Spain produces some of the best professional bicyclists in the world!! A HUGE Thank You to Cycling Country for our unforgettable and truly special bicycling trip!

My friend Harold and I did a customized self guided tour across Andalucia. The experience was fantastic. The logistical support, GPS files, backup maps and information, and customized service was beyond expectations. We rode longer distances than the standard tours, and they customized the routes and stops so we could cover more ground each day. This is a first class operation, and the individuals, from Geoff and Maggi, to Maria and Dean were all so accommodating. When I had a tire issue, a support vehicle was there promptly with a tire replacement, and when a flight was delayed and one of the group was unable to join us by public transport, they jumped in to arrange a private car. I can’t say enough about the service and the experience. Thanks so much Cycling Country for a wonderful time. Hasta Luego.

We took the Andalusian tour self guided in 2018. It was quite hilly but my wife had an ebike and was totally comfortable I can’t say enough about how well planned the route is and how much we enjoyed it. CC do a great job and the roads were very quiet for the most part over a 250 km route from Granada to Ronda with some side trips.

A cycling holiday with Maggi and Geoff is a great experience. They are organised, helpful, friendly, provide good equipment, and their attention to details cannot be faultered. We have done 2 tours with them and hope to do more

When my fiancé planned our Cycling Country trip as a part of our honeymoon, I thought it sounded like a great time. However, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a bike tour – we are both in decent physical shape and love to ride bikes together, but have never cycled on tour. Still, it sounded terrific and I reasoned that if we got tired after so much cycling, we could always ride in the support van for awhile. I have to say, now that our tour is over, that it was easily one of the best experiences of my life. Geoff and Maggie, the tour owner/operators were so much fun to ride with and brought a ton of stories, cycling knowledge, and good times with them. The tour was exciting, beautiful, and very well-planned. It’s hard to say whether we enjoyed the ride, the sights, or the group camaraderie more; all three were top-notch and really made for a wonderful time. My wife and I are already talking seriously about planning another tour in the near future.

I did a 10 day supported tour of Andalucia, Spain with Cycling Country who provided high quality bikes and excellent guiding. We were a small group of 8 cyclists with 2 guides who were available when needed but we never felt rushed or herded. The company had researched the route thoroughly and provided great hotel accommodation. I intend to ride with this company again next year.

Cycling Country provided an outstanding 9 day cycling trip from Lisboa to the Spanish border through the Alentejo region of Portugal. Everything from the two walking tours(in Lisboa and Evora) to the accommodations (most were luxurious pousadas (renovated monasteries, convents or castles with swimming pools) to the hearty breakfasts and group suppers to the well planned cycling routes was top notch. The three guides (Geoff, Maggi and Dean) were personable, accomodating, fun, informative and obviously love cycling. The weather was unseasonably hot but the support van was available to provide water to keep all hydrated or provide a lift if someone so desired. The route which is through primarily rolling agricultural area and small towns, had only a few climbs. A highlight for us was the stay in Monsaraz — a beautiful character hotel in a quaint town that is perched on top of a large hill and has amazing 360 degree view of the land below!

Great trip in andaluscia spain- tour guides were excellent, always felt they were around in case there was an issue, food was great, hotels were good, the group ‘meshed’ amazingly well, and the scenery was terific, and the hills gave us all good exercise. The tours they set up on the off days were excellent. I would recommend them. Our group is now talking about doing portugal with them next year !!!

Can’t possibly overstate what a wonderful experience it was to ride with the Spanish based company ‘Cycling Country’ on their Moorish Andalucia tour.Guides were knowledeable both about biking and the countryside/history of the region. The small group size (16 max) as well as the encouragement and humour of the guides resulted in a sense of family in the group such that many of us, strangers when we began, are already hoping to do another trip next year. Every detail was so carefully planned that they would always be my ‘go to’ company for cycle touring in Europe.

We have recently returned from Cycling Country’s Moorish Andalucia 10 day tour. The tour far outweighed all our expectations! The route and itinerary were excellent. We were able to cycle approx 50 miles a day, have private guided tours in 3 historic Spanish cities, enjoyed excellent accommodation and food, stunning scenery between cities and made some good friends. The tour was fully supported so less experienced cyclists could get a ride up the hills if they wanted to, the hardened roadies were able to do extra challenging loops. This is an excellent option if you are in a mixed cycling ability couple or group The tour is run by the owners who are all English speakers but have lived in Spain for several years. The organisation and attention to detail is excellent. We really can’t praise this company enough – if you’re looking for a tour in Spain or Portugal they have several options available – this is the company to go with, you won’t regret it!!

Flexibility was the key to our tour. Maggi and Geoff made it interesting and fun for everyone, adjusting to our abilities and lack thereof. We enjoyed the cultural experiences as well as the samplings of local cuisine. The hotels were good , the bikes were excellent, and the guides were superb. Above all, we experienced the countryside, the local flavor, and had fun doing it. Our tour was custom designed, our group, active seniors, although they also do trips for elite cyclists!

I had my doubts touring with a smaller company in Spain, but this outfit comes highly recommended. We cycled from Seville to Granada and the accommodation was excellent (staying in the same places as the other bigger tour companies such as Experience Plus) and the guides (the company owners from Canada and UK), so knowledgeable. And their prices are unbelievable for the experience, probably due to the fact they live in Andalusia and have less costs. They are rolling out a tour to Portugal this year – we’ll be back!

I cycled through Spain with these guys and I can honestly say it was the best bike trip I have ever taken. The company is run by a couple Maggi and Geoff who are delightful and give you all the support and information for this adventure through Moorish Spain. What surprised me most was the high quality of accommodation, restaurants and bikes, and the route was just beautiful.

La Vuelta 2012 .Wonderful experience over 9 days with Geoff and Dean who did everything and more to make this an especially great holiday. Riding at your own pace was part of the deal. Food accommodation and riding were great and the finale in Madrid in the VIP tent a huge bonus. Great value for money. We’re looking forward to coming back next year for more.

I set up Self Guided White Village and Quiet Paths trips for a party of four. My dealings before arrival with Maggi were honest, proffessional and courteous. It only got better when dealing with the rest of the Cycling Country team in person. All pick ups and lugage drop offs were on time and the lodging was very good. I was particularly impressed with the little things they and there staff did to make this a great vacation. If I return to Spain, they will be my first choice for supported rides. We took the Cycling Country ride through Andalusia and it was the most professional, well run and fun supported ride imaginable. Despite the weather not always being on our side, Dean, David and for the last couple of days Geoff all did a fine job of keeping us rolling up and down those hills and seeing all the sights and sites of Seville, Cordoba and Granada, and the magical places in between. I take my hat off to the crew at Cycling Country, they have struck a great balance in their ride offerings, for all levels of riders

What a great experience! I cannot say enough about my week with The Cycling House. Brendan and Mike were there every step, providing tips and guidance on nutrition, hydration, and bike handling skill. As for the staff, words that come to mind are: knowledgeable, experienced, accommodating and exceptional riders, as well as simply being down-to-earth, quality individuals. The greatest complement that I can say is — In the near-term, I’ll be back at another Cycling House event — if you want a truly wonderful cycling experience, reach out to the Cycling House!

We took the Moorish Andalusia Bike Tour. The owners, Geoff and Maggie, were wonderful. Dean is also a wonderful and supportive guide. The accommodations were great. The cycling could not be beat. They chose off-the-beaten-path roads that were beautiful; they chose small charming towns to stay in; We had (mostly) great and charming restaurants, and more. I cannot say enough about them. Highly recommended!!!
