My wife & I went on CycleGreece’s Temple of Poseidon Tour. It was a wonderful experience, and we look forward to trying our next adventure with them, next time we are in Greece.
Our day started with with a technical problem, caused entirely by ME. (I brought 3 left pedals & 1 right pedal for our 2 rental bikes). Calmly and professionally Yianni and Colleen worked around my mistake, and got us on the road in no time.
We followed Colleen down from the Acropolis, through Athens, and out of the city. She signaled clearly, was attentive to our safety concerns, and stopped to tell us about upcoming challenges.
In no time at all, we were down on the Aegean Coast, cycling along the seacoast. I’d never dreamed this was possible! I wish I could have gone on forever!
We came to the Temple of Poseidon on the Sounion Cape, a remarkable site. If you ever read Pausanias’ “Guide to Greece” (which I am currently doing, inspired by our visit) it is the very first thing he describes.
After our cycling was done, Yianni and Colleen took us to a little fish taverna on the coast, for lunch. The food was marvelous! And the fish! Anchovies, breem, sardines… Our guides had done their research, and it paid off in a wonderful experience for us.
I was truly sad when the day was over, and we had to go our separate ways. I’ve been looking over their other offerings, and when we’re next in Greece, we’ll include them in our plans.

Sacred Sites Tour was Phenomenal!
My wife and I just completed this tour of the Peloponnesus with friends. This was an incredibly rich experience in every way. Loved the routes, the sites visited with guided interpretations provided, the all encompassing personal rider support from personable and friendly staff, overall organization and attention to detail. This is the fourth bike tour we’ve done in Europe and found Cycle Greece rates right at the top. There is an absolute match between what is advertised by Cycle Greece and the quality of the tour we experienced. This was an outstanding experience in every way and I couldn’t recommend Cycle Greece more highly!! -
Cycling The Peloponnese with Cycle Greece was an opportunity of a lifetime. This was a guided tour that everything you could possibly ask for was taken care of by the owner Colleen McGuire and her two phenomenal assistants. The sights we visited, the mountains we climbed, and the friendships we developed were spectacular!
I would recommend Cycle Greece to anyone who desires a great bike tour of Greece. -
My wife and I recently did the self-guided 8 day tour of the Peloponnese with Cycle Greece. We are experienced cyclists and have done three European trips in the past three years. This trip was far and away our best vacation ever. Stunning terrain, friendly people, engaging sites. The tour operators were the most helpful we’ve ever worked with.
I highly recommend this Cycle Greece, and this tour, especially if you are experienced, fit, and are eager to get off the beaten track. Note that while long-distance cycling is not super popular in Greece, all the drivers were respectful, and we never felt unsafe.

I have done one self-guided and one guided tour with Cycle Greece. They were both OUTSTANDING. The trips were well organized, the rides were amazing, and the support was top-notch. Colleen knows so much about Greek history and culture and her enthusiasm about imparting this to participants makes her a perfect guide for these trips. I am so happy with this tour operator, that I will return for yet another guided tour in 2019.

My wife and I participated on Cycle Greece’s Sacred Sites Tour and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was definitely a memorable experience that featured good food, sights and camaraderie. There were some challenging climbs in the hot sun as well; however this was better than rain! Being on a tour managed by locals is different from those managed by the large companies. There was a more intimate knowledge of the region that provided more learning and insight; on the negative side, a smaller company is not as organized as a larger company, so it may not be for everyone. We enjoyed our experience and definitely recommend this tour to others!

I do not consider myself a real , hard riding biker. I ride bikes but given my age and not being a mass of muscles, I was worried about the Cycle Greece Tour being over my abilities. I was smart and rented an E-Bike. What a good decision. I loved all parts of the trip, hills were no problem. The tour leaders were friendly, helpful, and professional. It was a great trip and everyone should give it a go. We saw beautiful sites, ate wonderful food, had great camaraderie with other guests, stayed in nice places. What else could I ask for.

We are seasoned veterans of European bike tours with various tour companies. The hard-working staff of CycleGreece were very attentive to our needs and concerns and were unfailingly friendly throughout our tour. The food was fabulous, the accommodations were comfortable, and the biking was well supported. But best of all, the educational element was unsurpassed. We heard musicians, we talked to sculptors, we got lectures from archeologists and historians, we heard about and tasted Greek wine. We will never forget the impromptu moment on a rest stop when the question arose about the symbolism of the Greek flag, and our guides responded by bursting into a spirited acapella rendition of the Greek national anthem! If you want to know Greece and its people, CycleGreece is the way to go!

Two years ago, I did a self-guided trip on Crete. It was outstanding. The cycling was fantastic and the accommodations were amazing. I loved that I could cycle as much or as little as I wanted each day. The accommodations varied between small hotels in remote villages to gorgeous tastefully appointed four-star hotels. Each place reflected the character of the area. Colleen provided great suggestions for activities and meals in every town.
So this year I participated in the Sacred Sites Tour. This was a really challenging course. The tour was well supported by Colleen and Pete. Each day included some cultural activity such as learning some Greek phrases, touring ancient sites, sampling Greek aperitifs, cooking a Greek meal. Again, I loved the accommodations and we were always well fed.
I hope to go back to Greece on another Cycle Greece tour. The prices are very reasonable for the tours and I fell in love with Greece!

The Sacred Sites tour was fantastic. It certainly is a challenging tour and not for the leisure cyclist. The history of the area was most rewarding, the people I met and of course the tour operator – CycleGreece. I’m glad to hear the trip has been moved to October from Sept. as the heat became an issue for many. I look forward to doing another adventure with Colleen and Cycle Greece.

We did a bike and car rental tour with Cycle Greece. Our experience was wonderful! The personalized services provided by Collen and Yannis owners of Cycle Greece was exceptional. They made all the arrangements for us and answered our many questions. The inns and hotels selected were all excellent. The bikes routes were easy to navigate and the historical locations selected are all worth seeing. They met us at the airport to hand over car, bikes, review maps and in general made sure we had everything for a safe tour. Greece is a wonderful country to ride bikes. The road traffic in countryside is low and drivers respectful of bikes. If you want to experience Greece up close and personal the best way is on a bike. The car rental allows for you to cover more of Greece if your time in country is short as ours was. We only had one week and if can stay longer it will be worth it. Also use Cycle Greece to arrange for stay in Athens it is well worth it and Athens is great city to visit. In closing we were totally satisfied with Cycle Greece and on top of that Collen and Yannis are great people and a joy to meet.

Cycled with 4 friends Peloponnese peninsula for 6 days. The distances were not long. Weather was hot and with many moderate climbs days were easily managed. The bikes were aluminium with rough tires so I noticed slightly harder cycle compared to my Cervelo at home. Colleen provided all the needed information in advance. The trip was meticulously organized. Pete the driver was fantastic. He perfectly manged the rides and was always present when needed, and great guy. Hotels were delightful with known and tested restaurants every night. The GPS didn’t work well and I found tip sheets hard to read while cycling but as a small group and with Pete guiding we never were lost. What an amazing trip!!

My husband and I are avid cyclists having enjoyed many cycling vacations in over 15 countries. Of all the companies we have dealt with Cycle Greece provided by far the most superior service. Colleen tailored a tour that fit perfectly with our preferences. Her communication was exceptional. The tour sent us on delightful roads with charming scenery and high quality accommodation. I highly recommend Cycling Greece.

This was, by far, one of the best vacations I’ve ever taken. We did a self-guided tour through Cycle Greece and ALL details were taken care of. We filled out quite extensive paperwork before the trip and they ensured that they picked a route that was challenging enough for us, but not too challenging!
They picked us up at the airport, fitted our bikes, took us to our first night hotel, then got us to the ferry the next morning to start our journey.
We didn’t want to be part of a larger tour group, so the self-guided options was perfect for us. Cycle Greece provided not only paper cue sheets, but a pre-loaded Garmin with each day’s route, a local cell phone so that we could call them if we needed help or guidance, hotel accommodations, and luggage transfer each day to our next destination.
When our trip was complete, they took us to our overnight hotel in Athens, then ensured we were at the airport on time the next morning.
